Midlife Crisis Alert: Actually Purchasing A Classic Mustang
July 23, 2009
So I haven’t had time to talk on the web site quite as often as I had expected, owing to the fact that I have been running around town with my old man manage his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. Well, I guess it isn’t as crazy as it could possibly be. How it went, I mean how he showed up was to get himself dressed up like the Fonz or something, and come on over to my crib and tell me, in his jazziest possible vocal tone: “Get ready, bro, we’re gonna start vying for some classic Ford Mustangs for sale. You got it, dude, I intend to buy one.”
Next thing I know my Dad and I went out to a few of those weird classic car sales lots that I’m mostly certain the mob owns and operates, and I witness my dad made out a check right there on the spot, for a very well-preserved classic mustang. It’s quite item. It sounded amazing as well.
Notice that I phrased that last sentence in the past tense. It sounded really nice right up to the point that it rendered itself silent. My pops maintains that it’s a pretty simple thing to fix and that all it will take is the right part. Only thing is, it is not as straightforward to locate 1969 Mustang parts as it was over a thousand years ago, but he swears there is a really nice-sized aftermarket for them regardless. As far as my Dad tells me the surest way to get you parts for classic Ford Mustangs is through online auctions, since you can find them all refurbished and sometimes even brand new. They’re only sometimes a steal, however… After all, they are 30-year-old automobile parts.
I guess it could’ve been worse… He might have got himself a volkswagen bus.
