Future New Car Releases

August 21, 2009

The new car registration season always sees a rise in new car sales and over the last twelve months a number of exciting new models have been launched by the big players such as Ford, Honda and the prestige manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz.

Ford has released 2 new models, the Fiesta and the Ka to and first glance has had some excellent feedback from customers and car experts. The new ford fiesta has a lot to live up to and it’s destined to be a winner with it’s new design aspects. It’s lighter, yet stiffer, greener and cheaper to run. It’s also safer and better to drive even than the Mazda2 supermini with which it shares a common platform. In many ways, this new car represents Ford’s future in the design and technology front.

The new Ford Ka treads a fine line in second generation guise. Fortunately, it has a huge bank of customers loyal from the first generation version to fall back on if all else fails. There’s a more efficient petrol engine on offer, plus a diesel for the first time. What once may have been perceived as a cheap car, has now been eroded altogether with the advancement of the Fiesta and Ka models.

Honda is challenging Toyota’s pre-eminence in the hybrid vehicle stakes with its new Insight. Will enough people choose its 64mpg and 101g/km emissions over the greater performance and fun of a more conventional model? Much will depend on whether we can come round to the Insight’s way of thinking.

In the prestige market, the Mercedes E-Class looks stronger than ever in its latest guise. The design is as conservative as you’d expect from Mercedes but that’s likely to make the product all the more popular with its traditional customers.

This time around however, the E-Class is trying to portray a more dynamic image than its forbears and the Coupe version can only help in this regard. With advanced technology and improved engines, the Coupe also offers a sporty suspension set-up and some sleek styling.
