Low Cost Exercises For Everyone
November 25, 2009
A lot of people think that it’s not really necessary to invest in exercise equipment to stay in shape. After all, what did our ancestors do? They exercised mainly by staying active - because they had to in order to get through life.
In fact, it’s only comparatively lately that we, as a society, had to “invent” excellent home gym exercises to make up for the lack of it that we got in our day to day activities. So what are the best forms of exercise today?
Of course, the 2 most well known type of exercise that practically requires no equipment except possibly a pair of athletic shoes are walking and running. Of these, walking is probably the best as there is less joint impact from the constant pounding of the foot on pavement.
Another excellent low cost exercise is jumping rope. This exercise is one of the best if you want to improve your cardiovascular system. Jumping rope helps to improve your flexibility, build up heart strength, lung strength, and endurance. Equipment is also very inexpensive in that all you need is a rope, and you’re ready to go.
Swimming is often mentioned as one of the best all around exercises. It exercises the entire body - especially the large muscle groups. It’s a low impact exercise making it a good exercise for the body’s joints. And it burns calories at a tremendous rate. The only problem, however, is that you need access to a pool to take part in this exercise.
And, lastly, there is the resistance band or bands. Resistance bands are great in that you can use them practically anywhere. They’re not expensive, they’re easy to use, and they can even be fun.
The bottom line is that if you want to exercise, you don’t have to invest in expensive exercise equipment or the best home gyms. Often the best exercise is one that you can do with adequate discount fitness equipment or some of the equipment that you already have.
